Hello, I’m Matt an Admin Assistant at You HR Consultancy
I am a young man with Autism who has a lot to offer and I like to work with computers. I am working as an IT Assistant at Style Acre with Keith Thornton the IT Manager. I program the Omi-Vista overhead Interactive Projection System, creating personalised educational and sensory themes for people with learning disabilities. I have been providing IT support to both staff and service users at Style Acre Head Office. I am learning more tasks involving Windows networking and server based technology and I also provide general maintenance on all devices at Style Acre. I volunteer at Hithercroft Sports Centre where I clean up the bar area. I’m also a volunteer at Oxfam and catalogue their books that then go on the Amazon site for sale.
I started working for You HR over a year ago as a volunteer and am now working in a paid role as an administrator.
I like to be accurate and pay attention to detail, so I am good at working on data entry and work that requires being methodical. I work hard and like to finish a job when I have started it.
Why You HR Consultancy:
You HR Consultancy gave me the chance to try working in a new environment and supported me to help me settle in and made me feel welcome. I feel I am valued member of the team now and can share a joke with the team who understand my sense of humour. I especially enjoy the treats box that are on offer at You HR, it is good to have a break and a treat to keep me going. The meals in the Canteen are excellent too.
I like travelling in Europe with my girlfriend. I have been to Israel, which is my all-time favourite holiday. I have a small garden and I enjoy planting brightly coloured flowers and a few vegetables, tomatoes and strawberries. I am keen on making art such as painting and have made quite a bit of pottery. I am a big fan of movies and British comedies such as Dad’s Army. When it comes to books I enjoy reading Harry Potter and cookery books. I enjoy cooking.
I am enjoying my work with the friendly team at You HR and I hope it continues.
