Hello, I am Nichola a HR Adviser at You HR Consultancy

My background:

I started my career at the Barbican Centre in London. I worked in the box office as a casual member of staff, I was then offered a permanent position and stayed working there for 13 years. When I had my children, I wanted to be more local to home so took a role in retail for Marks and Spencer’s. This led to a further opportunity in the financial services department where I trained on a range of financial products that Marks and Spencer’s offered. Whilst at Marks and Spencer’s I started my counselling and Hypnotherapy course which I successfully completed and am now a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist. An opportunity was then offered to me in the NHS, this was for Greenwich PCT in the Human Resources department. I started as a recruitment officer and over time worked my way up to the recruitment team leader. When PCT’s had to merge I joined Oxleys NHS Foundation trust doing the same role only with more staff. An opportunity come up to join You HR which was exciting as it was a similar role but outside of the NHS and allowing me to develop the HR of Human Resources side as well as recruitment. I have been with the business now for 10 years plus.

My approach:

My role for the last 4 years has been working on the Guildford and Waverley CCG contract, this was initially an 8-week contract and I am still there. Each day is different and brings different challenges. The CCG have recently gone through many changes so different challenges have arisen from this, each day is a learning curve but that’s what makes the job interesting. I feel valued and part of the Guildford and Waverley team.

Why You HR Consultancy:

You HR Consultancy offers many different opportunities; all our clients are different and albeit I am generally working on the Guildford and Waverley contract I also assist where I can on other contracts that we hold. I have also had the opportunity to do some counselling if a client request this.

My interests:

I enjoy exercise particularly running and like to do this as often as I can.

I like going to the cinema and spending time with my children.
